About Sizo
Sizo is a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental awareness, cultural preservation, and community empowerment through African traditions and the arts.

But we are more than an organization.
We are a bridge.
A bridge between yesterday and tomorrow.
Between tradition and innovation.
Between knowledge and action.
We believe the answers to many modern problems already exist inside our indigenous knowledge systems. Our work is simply to bring them back into the light.

Our Meaning
Our name comes from the Yemba language.
Si — Earth or God
Zo — Yesterday or Tomorrow
Together, Sizo means respecting where we come from while shaping where we are going.
It reminds us that the future is built on memory.

Mission & Vision
Why we exist, where we are headed.
We build future-ready communities by grounding them in culture, land, and creative knowledge.
Our Vision
A world where communities live in harmony with the Earth, guided by culture, creativity, and knowledge passed from generation to generation.
Our Mission
To educate, inspire, and empower people through environmental learning, indigenous wisdom, and artistic expression.

Our Approach
We do not separate education from culture.
We do not separate art from knowledge.
We do not separate people from the environment.
Everything is connected.
So our work is connected too.
We teach through art.
We design through story.
We build through community.
